The Leam at Wolfhamcote is a small fast running stream and a breeding site for Beautiful Demoiselle, the target species. Banded Demoiselle also breeds with it as does the White Legged Damselfly. There are a number of other water bodies on the site with a variety of species.

Aim

Friday Island is a SSSI designated for its rich assemblage of aquatic plants, notably several species of stoneworts. This is a privately-owned site and the owner is kindly providing access for this event. This is an excellent site for a range of wildlife and an excellent introduction to habitats typical of the Cotswold Water Park.

Sixteen species have been recorded to date, including the nationally scarce Downy Emerald.

There is the option to visit a second site in the afternoon if time permits and people are interested.

All survey data will feed into the Cotswold Water Park Dragonfly Atlas Project (2008-2013) and into the National Atlas Project.
